CATBALOGAN CITY─ One of the startups of Samar State University Technology Business Incubator-Local Alliance of Marine-based Businesses and Food Technology (SSU TBI-LAMBAT), Surg founded by Engr. Raven C. Tabiongan, qualified for the Transcend Accelerator H2 2021.

Along with eight other startups around the country, Surg, an on-demand local freelancer-to-local client marketplace for creative and professional services, was chosen to join the twelve-week program designed by Launchgarage and the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) to support startups nationwide that have reached a certain level of maturity: tested and validated product-market fit, traction and revenues, a dedicated and capable founding team, an agile and strategically iterative organization, technology and product development expertise, and overall ‘wow’ factor.

The support to be provided will be delivered through three different sessions: Online Sessions, After Work Sessions, and Dealflow Sessions.

Engr. Tabiongan recently attended the kick-off orientation of the First Cohort of Accelerator Program with the theme “Transcend (Vertical Smart City)” and was welcomed by the Launchgarage founder, Mr. Jay Fajardo together with Mr. Abe Lozada.

Surg, as part of the cohort, is now eligible to claim 5000 USD worth of Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits for one (1) year, 10000 USD worth of Freshworks credits, and 500 USD worth of Bubble.io credits for three (3) months.

Aiming to strengthen the community of local gig-workers by providing a platform designed for Filipino freelancers and clients alike in a form of a mobile app available in iOS and Android phones, this project truly surges SSU to higher grounds in the knowledge-based world of innovation and technopreneurship.
