CATBALOGAN CITY – Aiming to enhance the expertise of the faculty researchers of Samar State University in conceptualizing and preparing research proposals potential for institutional funding, Samar State University Center for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Research and Development (SSU-CFAARRD) organized the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Research Proposal Writeshop on July 23 and 30 (21).
The Center headed by Director Diana Shane A. Balindo saw the vital role of understanding the parts that comprise a research proposal leading to smooth implementation of research project researches.
The Chief Science Research Specialist (SRS) Director of the Marine Resources Research Division – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (MRRD-PCAARRD) ―Dr. Mari-Ann M. Acedera, Dr. Leni Yap-Dejeto of the University of the Philippines Visayas-Tacloban City (UPV-TC), and Dr. Rotacio S. Gravoso of Visayas State University (VSU) served as speakers during the workshop.
They tackled Recent Advances in Aquatic and Fisheries Research, Conceptualization of Research Proposal, and Writing the Introduction respectively.
Twenty-six (26) faculty-participants crafted their research problem statement and introduction as part of the workshop.
The proposal writeshop will resume on August 9 and 13 for its third and last sessions.
