SSU TBI-LAMBAT teams up with LGU, agencies for upcoming Hackathon

CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University (SSU) Samar State University Technology Business Incubator-Lambat Local Alliance of Marine-based Businesses and Food Technology (SSU TBI-LAMBAT) meets with the City Government of Catbalogan Councilor Stephany Uy-Tan together with her team on May 28 (21) to converse with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), BitsnBytes Catbalogan Systems (BBCS), SSU-Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and SSU Research Innovation Laboratory Managers for an upcoming Hackathon and Bootcamp scheduled

Dr. Vivian L. Moya, Director of the Intellectual Property Technology Business Development Office (IPTBDO) and TBI-LAMBAT Project Leader, welcomed the participants and shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming event.

The meeting attendees tackled the essentials of the event and plotted the schedule and venues considering the local situation.

In her message, Hon. Stephany Uy-Tan expressed her excitement on starting the hackathon this year to be spearheaded by SSU and the LGU. She thanked SSU for not giving up on creating platforms of innovation for the city.

DTI and BBCS rendered their words of support emphasizing the importance of sustainability of the functioning software or hardware that will be pitched during the event.

Dr. Orale, in closing, told everyone to work altogether “to build an oasis of change” in the locality.
