SSU organizes month-long activities for ‘Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya’

CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University (SSU) ‘makes change work for women’ as it celebrates the 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration through various Gender and Development (GAD) undertakings since the start of March.

Welcoming Samar State University’s (SSU) personnel and visitors at the Ground Floor of the SSU Convention Center is a ‘purple’ booth which was recognized as the “color of women” symbolizing justice and dignity.

On March 22 (21), the grand celebration of Women’s Day at SSU took place at its grounds. The event commenced with an opening message by the University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, emphasizing how stronger women have become during the pandemic and acknowledging the support given by men to ‘Juanas’.

The Zumbabae Dance for All was also held enjoining the whole SSU Community.

Dr. Ronald L. Orale, the Vice President for Research and Extension Services, expressed his gratitude towards women and how he supports the celebration’s cause in his closing remarks.

Other various activities will happen in the upcoming days such as the Photo Exhibit, Art Contest, Trivia Games on DYSY 102.9 University Radio, and a Forum on Women’s Empowerment as part of SSU’s commitment to “(We) Make Change Work for Women”.
