CATBALOGAN CITY– The Research Center for Social and Culture Issues (RCCSI) of Samar State University (SSU) conducted an In-House Review for completed researches on March 2 (21) via zoom web conferencing.
Aims of the activity include to present and to review and critique the terminal reports of the 2020 completed institutionally-funded researches under the center.
Prof. Ferdinand T. Abocejo from Eastern Visayas State University, Prof. Dakila Kim P. Yee, and Prof. Michael C. Pan, both from the University of the Philippines served as technical evaluators of the activity.
Researches were presented by faculty research enthusiasts namely, Ms. Rosybelle Sablad, Dr. Laura Boller, Ms. Naomi Jabonete, Ms. Hannah Joyce Macawili, Ms. Elma Sutan, Ms. Alevir de Guia, Mr. Daryl Casiano, and Dr. Rhea Jane Rosales.
Ten (10) researches that were completed in 2020 under RCCSI include Unraveling Di-aryo and its Political and Socio-economic Impact: A Phenomenological Study; Lived Experiences of BEED Pre-Service Teachers among Teacher Education Institutions in Catbalogan City Division; Reading Fluency and Comprehension Level of College Freshmen Students of SSU; Healthcare Frontliners Experiences During COVID 19 Crisis; Culture Redefined via Digital Media: A Sociolinguistics Analysis; Exploring the Lived Experiences of Retired Rehired: A Phenomenological Study; Knowledge, Perceptions and Attitude of Samarnons Towards the Novel Coronavirus Diseases (COVID 19); Knowledge and Utilization of the Department of Health Approved Herbal Plants in Barangay Bunuanan Catbalogan City; Industry Profiling of Commercially Important Crustacean Industry in Samar; and Monitoring Knowledge, Risk Perceptions, Preventive Behaviours and Trust to Inform Pandemic Outbreak Response.
SSU aspires to have these researches, eventually, published in reputable journals or presented in research fora and hopes to produce more quality researches in the year present and the years ahead.
