Samar State University was granted with Fire Safety Inspection Certificate on January 27, 2021 after its building structure has been inspected for functionality of its fire safety equipment.
The Bureau of Fire Protection finds the University compliant with the fire safety and protection requirements of RA 9514 also known as the Fire Code of the Philippines of 2008 and its revised Implementing Rules and Regulations.
This exercise of the University is “…an extraordinary diligence (of the University) and a manifestation of our earnest effort to provide a safe environment to the whole SSU community.”, Mr. Juniel Tagarino, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer of the University, said.
On SSU’s Resilience and Business Continuity Strategic Plan Amid Covid-19 Pandemic, Goal No. 1 is to Make Safety, Health, and Well-Being of SSU Personnel, Students, and Other Stakeholders as Top Priority.
“This also shows that SSU is conformable to mandates on statutory requirement by regulatory bodies and agencies on safety.”, he added.
As SSU commits to live by its Quality Policy to provide and uphold service excellence in conformity to legal and statutory requirements for continual improvement, a functional and safe operation check of the University will be a routinely activity.
With this certificate on fire safety compliance, SSU is again inspired to continuously prove true its being a transformative and resilient University.
