CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University (SSU) solidifies its status as a certified Moodle user as more than 250 faculty continue preparing their Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) during the Day 4 of the In-House Training.
According to ICT Director Zaldy Jabinar, all faculty were already given their Moodle accounts and more than three-fourths of the faculty were already able to upload their resources to their Moodle classrooms.
A dramatic change in the way people teach, learn, and work occurred when COVID-19 plunged into the scene, and online learning is now more relevant than ever.
The only way to cope with school closure is to dive into using online platforms to bridge the social distance between teachers and students and thus SSU switching into using Moodle as one of the modes of learning.
Going digital was no joke for many since not all are comfortable in using the full online mode of learning.
“Using Moodle requires a lot of work. It was a sudden transition and everyone is going the extra mile to get acquainted with the different navigation tools of the new learning system,” said Jeff Harold Uy, College of Education (COEd) faculty.
But quoting what the University President said on the first day, “It is now time to embrace changes.”
The faculty furnished their online classrooms today and each college will send a representative to exhibit their outputs tomorrow for evaluation at the SSU Convention Center.
Dr. Analin E. Porto and Dr. Ma. Ninia I. Calaca, experts from the University of Sto. Tomas, will evaluate the LMS of the participants on Friday, July 17 (20).
