CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University sent a total of 295 face shields to several hospitals and government offices in Tacloban City to be used by their front line heroes on Monday, April 6.
Among the recipients of the face shields were the Mother of Mercy Hospital, Tacloban City Hospital, Department of Science and Technology RO VIII, Schistosomiasis Hospital, Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC), National Economic Development Authority RO VIII, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Leyte Provincial Office, Leyte Provincial Hospital, Department of Health RO VIII, Department of Science and Technology RO VIII, Divine Word Hospital, ACE Medical Center, and RTR Hospital.
The face shields were improvised by the University’s faculty-researchers at the Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) of the Research and Innovation Center (RIC) to help curb the spread of coronavirus.
SSU also provided a manual on the utilization and maintenance of the face shields.
