UPV visits SSU for genomic research planning, consultation

In line with strengthening research capabilities, Samar State University welcomes the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) for a Planning and Consultation for Genomic Research conducted today at the Research & Innovation Center Conference Room.

The activity was joined by technical experts and consultants from (UPV); and research directors, researchers, faculty, and staff of SSU.
Program Director of Philippine Genome Center (PGC) Visayas Satellite, Dr. Victor Marco Emmanuel N. Ferriols, shared the different activities and services offered by the leading research and training facility on genomics. The Director also commended SSU for its active engagements on research.

“I believe that the SUCs and HEIs are at the front of empowering the regions with their growing research capabilities. We share best practices. You learn from us, we learn from you,” Dr. Ferriols stated.

Along Dr. Ferriols are other technical experts and consultants from UPV namely Dr. Rolly Fuentes, Dr. Mashaley Baquiano, Dr. Elene Belmar, and Dr. Maria Roiseiv Cayanaw, who all expressed their enthusiasm to provide coaching and training services and hopefully forge partnerships with SSU soon.

SSU, with the establishment of its new Research & Innovation Center and laboratories, is aspiring to venture researches in the field of genomics.
