Talents shone during the much-awaited opening ceremony of the 2019 Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) Meet at the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) oval on December 8, 2019 marking the commencement of the games.
The opening ceremony was divided into different segments.
The breathtaking aerial demonstration was participated by the members of the PNP skydiver team who fearlessly showed their skills and jumped off from a plane, making a massive statement of how ‘SCUAA VIII is great’.
The parade showcased the colorful uniforms of the 11 SUCs together with their mascots: Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) Green Mantis, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Eagles , Leyte Normal University (LNU) Huskies, Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU) Lions, Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) Sea Lions, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) King Fisher, Samar State University (SSU) Blue Shark, University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) Buffalo, University of the Philippines (UP) Living Maroons, Visayas State University (VSU) Titans and the host school Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) Tigers, respectively.
The playground demonstration was performed by the students of BiPSU as they danced with high spirits to display a beautiful welcome during the event’s opening.
