Three lifetime values that sports teach has been highlighted by Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., the President of Biliran Provincial State University (BIPSU) in his Welcome Remarks during the Opening Program of the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletics Associations (SCUAA) Meet 2019, held at BiPSU oval on December 8.
“By demonstrating these values, you capitalize the more important aspect of SCUAA competition which is the people who are involved in it and not just the games themselves,” he justifies.
The said program was attended by 11 participating SCUAA delegations having a total of 3,497 including State Universities and Colleges’ (SUCs) players and officials, where the Presidents of these SUCs together with their Sports Directors and Candidates of Mr. and Ms. SCUAA 2019, united to raise the SCUAA and delegations’ banners.
“Sa SCUAA games na ito ay nasusukat hindi lamang ang galing ng ating mga athletes, kundi ang pagkakaisa ng mga participating SUCs na kahit magkakatunggali sa medal tally ay nagbubuklod upang itaguyod ang fairness, sportsmanship at integrity sa laro in a friendly competition (In this SCUAA games, adeptness of the athletes is not the only thing measured, but the unity of the participating SUCs though opponents on the medal tally, still join forces to raise fairness, sportsmanship, and unity),” Hon. Gerardo J. Espina Jr., Representative Lone District of Biliran Province said during his inspirational message.
