Catbalogan City – Samar State University (SSU) through the Statistics Society, invited Herbie Jose Balicot, Statistical Analyst of the Samar Provincial Statistics Office (SPSO) under the Philippine Statistics Society (PSA), as this year’s National Statistics Month (NSM) lecturer.
The two-day enhancement activity attended by the Statistics major students paved way to the full understanding of what data innovation is.
The speaker had emphasized that it is the ‘key to a better nation’.
“With the fast-growing shift of the world towards the Revolution 4.0, Statistics shall flow with it. It must not be left behind. That is why, we need to innovate. There is a need to adjust what we know and continually raise the bar of Statistics, because I see that it is the key to a better nation,” Balicot emphasized.
After the seminar, Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and Mrs. Cynthia C. Honrales, Quality Assurance Focal Person, awarded a Certificate of Recognition to the speaker.
