Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, presented the formats for instructional materials (IMs) production to Samar State University faculty participants, readying them for the break-out sessions, during the Day 3 of the In-House Seminar-Workshop, July 24 (Wednesday).

The formats for the IMs to be generated which the faculty may choose from are the following: 1) For Monograph – Cover/Title Page, Introduction, Objectives, Topic Content/Discussion, Summary/Conclusion, Evaluation/Exercises, and References; 2) For Work/Textbook – Cover/Title Page, Preface, Table of Contents, Introduction, General Learning Objectives, Chapter Discussion (a. Learning Objectives; b. Discussion and Supplementary Activities/Examples; c. Summary; and d. Exercises/Evaluation), Appendices, Glossary, and References; 3) For Module – Cover/Title Page, Table of Contents, Introduction, Chapter Discussion (a. Learning Objectives; b. Discussion and Supplementary Activities/Examples; c. Summary; and d. Exercises/Evaluation), Rubric (if applicable), and References; and 4) For Laboratory Module – Cover Page, Title Page, Table of Contents, Discussion, Laboratory Exercises/Hand-on Activities (a. List of Materials/Equipment; b. Instruction on the Appropriate Use of the Materials/Equipment), Summary, Evaluation, Rubrics, and References.

Before Dr. Patosa ended her talk, Dr. Ronald L. Orale, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services, suggested that the participants have the leeway to select any IM that is doable and made ready for presentation on the Day 5 of the seminar-workshop. Consequently, the CAS Dean signaled the facilitators and session managers of every unit to begin with the break-out sessions.
