SSU to groove fitness on Wednesdays
SSU, Catbalogan – The SDCAP launched the Regular Physical Fitness Program for students and personnel today, January 23, as a fulfillment of the strategic plan of the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and the program will be a regular activity of the university scheduled every Wednesday, 3-5 PM at the Convention Center.
It includes three physical fitness options which are Zumba, Taebo, and Sports (Racket and Ball Games).
Before the students and personnel were allowed to join the activity, they were required to visit the Medical Clinic for a blood pressure check-up assuring their safety.
Melody Bachao, a faculty from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), said that this is her most-awaited program because it is a “breather” from work.
“I don’t have any chance to do physical activities because of the busy schedule at home and in school, and this becomes a special time for me to release the stress,” Bachao said.
She also believes that the wellness program will result to increased employee productivity.
“Healthier employees are more likely to have a higher level of energy and increased concentration. This will surely help me to become more effective in my work, that is why I look forward to attending the next sessions,” she stated.
