2018 R&D In-House-Review, about 70 papers for presentation
Catbalogan City, Samar – The annual Research and Development In-House-Review will commence today November 7 and end tomorrow November 8, 2018 with about 70 proposals, on-going, and completed researches for presentation. The papers under the Research Center for Culture and Social Issues (RCCSI), Center for Engineering, S&T Innovations (CESTI), and Center for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (CFARRD) will compete for the best proposals and outstanding proposal. Reviewers for papers under RCCSI are Prof. Esther R. Bañar, Prof. Mark Bency M. Elpedes, & Dr. Josephine C. Pilingon. Reviewers of papers in CESTI are Engr. Rosella S. Gopo, Ms. Isabelita M. Pamposa and Dr. Vivian L. Moya. Prof. Natalia A. Ciasico, Dr. Emilio H. Cebu and Prof. Renato C. Diocton are the evaluators of papers in the CFARRD.
Before this IHR, the Colleges conducted their own R&D IHR to suggest enhancement and select papers for endorsement to the institutional level review. The University has about PhP7M funds for institutional R&D projects in 2019 sourced from GAA and UI of the university.
The institutionally funded projects intend to help SSU researchers develop their reputation in R&D for better chances in accessing external funds. For 2018-2020 SSU was able to secure more than PhP 80M of funds for R&D purposes. Funders include DOST-PCAARRD, CHED, DILG, DENR, CWD and Catbalogan LGU to name a few.
