SSU begins call for R&D Leaders for its NICER-EVCCRD
As a grantee of the Niche Centers in the Regions for R&D (NICER) for its Eastern Visayas Center for Crustacean Research and Development (EVCCRD), Samar State University (SSU) starts its search today, August 2, for an R&D Leader to help establish the EVCCRD.
The R&D Leadership, or RDLead, is a program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Conceptualized with the NICER program, the RDLead engages experts to be in charge of “establishing new and existing” NICER programs.
Since SSU’s EVCCRD is related to marine life, the RD Leader needed for the center should also be an expert in such, specifically on blue swimming crab and other crustaceans native to Samar.
The RD Leader will be working on two projects under the EVCCRD program – stock assessment and stock enhancement – with a year’s engagement. The chosen RD Leader will receive a salary ranging from P159,000-P178,000 per month aside from other compensations.
While SSU supplies the qualifications and requirements necessary for its RD Leader, the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) will screen all applicants after the deadline on August 10.
Further details on the application for SSU’s RD Leader can be accessed on NRCP’s Facebook page, Research Pod (Call for RD Leader album).
