Call for Nominations: SSU Grand Sulo Awards
The University management recognizes employees who consistently exhibit superior performance while demonstrating the core values of the university and is performing towards the attainment of the university’s vision: a transformative university.
“Sulo” or Torch is depicted in the innermost part of the Samar State University (SSU) logo. Its shedding light is representing the University itself, a light to innovate, to build and to serve. The university personnel serve as the models of students and the community, in general, as they transform the society through technology, innovation, and service excellence. The employees are the drivers of change in SSU and the serviced community in general.
The University is witness to the many transformations of its operation primarily attributable to its outstanding employees. They are the selfless government workers who have exhibited more than the usual kind of service expected from them. They are the epitome of public service. They are worthy to be recognized to motivate them further and to encourage them to continue setting examples. There are many silent outstanding workers in SSU who do not want to be recognized as they do it for the love of God, the country, and the University. However, the awarding of the models of the University is not only for the awardees but for the rest of the SSU community for they will serve as the “sulo” that sheds its light to guide the rest of institution.
There are eight awards at stake for 2018 and is expected to expand in the succeeding years. These awards are:
