SSU qualifies for CSC’s PRIME-HRM Accreditation Level 2
Catbalogan City – After the two-day on-site assessment last November 13-14, Samar State University (SSU) qualified for the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM).
With its present PRIME-HRM Accredited Level 2 Status (Old Tool) awarded in 2014, SSU HRMO Head Evelyn D. Abaigar confirmed that SSU qualified for Level II under the PRIME-HRM (New Tool) after assessors Dr. Banello P. Gabon, Chief Human Resource Specialist, and Ms. Lucille K. Lepasana, Senior Human Resource Specialist, evaluated her office.
The assessors evaluated and validated two HRMO areas namely Rewards and Recognition (RR) and Learning and Development (LD), while they validated the Performance and Management (PM) and Recruitment, Selection and Placement (RSP) areas since the latter had passed assessment, which CSC-RO8 recognized in September 2017.
The PRIME-HRM team had an ocular inspection; reviewed HR records; and interviewed the University President, Vice-Presidents, College Deans and Campus Directors, HRMO head and staff, SSU department heads and other stakeholders for the (a) systems assessment, (b) HRMO competencies assessment, and (c) practices assessment.
During the Exit Conference, CSC Provincial Director of Samar, Emmanuel Fuentes and CSC Assessor Banello Gabon congratulated SSU for being the only SUC in Region VIII that qualified for the Level II PRIME-HRM Accreditation. With this, SSU has been recommended for Bronze Award which will be conferred by the CSC Central Office per assessment of the CSC-RO8.
