2017 Student Research Projects Competition

The Office of University Research and Extension Services through the Center for Engineering, Science and Technology Innovation (CESTI), Center for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (CFARRD) and the Research Center for Culture and Social Issues (RCCSI) announces the Search for Most Outstanding Student Research and Development Project for 2017.

The competition which will be conducted on March 8, 2017, wednesday is open to all bonafide undergraduate students of Samar State University vying for the four (4) Best Paper award, each in Social Science and Education, Engineering and ICT, Science and Technology and Fisheries and Marine Sciences. The student who gets the highest score among all categories will be declared the Most Outstanding Student R&D Project. Finalists who will present their papers orally on March 8 are required also to have posters displayed at the venue. Best in Poster award will also be handed down. Cash prizes and certificates await winning entries. Interested students are requested to contact the R&E Coordinators of their College/Campus for endorsement to the Office of Planning R&E of the university. Participants are required to submit four copies of their entries and must follow the prescribed format of presentation.

The competition has produced winners in the regional and national R&D competition. This year, Research Centers expects more than 40 competing papers after first-round of screening of entries.
