ST Ruby damages SSU campuses
The damages caused by Super Typhoon Ruby are worsed than ST Yolanda in 2013. ST Ruby damaged several infrastructures in the four campuses of Samar State University. The worst state of SSU-Basey Campus affected the holding of classes and needs immediate reconstruction. SSU Main campus has at least 3 buildings with damaged roofing, and a stretch of covered walk. SSU-Mercedes Campus roofs were also partly damaged. One SSUMC field laboratory in Brgy Popua Catbalogan was totally damaged, while SSU Paranas campus roofs was partly damaged.
SSU-Basey was the heavily affected by ST Ruby among the four campuses. Roofs were totally damaged exposing books, equipment’s and tools to rain. SSU have requested again DPWH to conduct on-site assessment to officially estimate the damage.
